Dear St. John School District Community,
In the interest of transparency and maintaining our financial stability, I am writing to inform you about upcoming changes regarding our organization’s 2024-25 budget. Due to our current financial status, we have determined it necessary to implement measures aimed at reducing expenses. This has been primarily due to increased costs for property and liability insurance, fuel, electricity, salaries/benefits, food services and other unanticipated costs.
It is crucial to emphasize that while these upcoming budget adjustments are necessary for our financial health, they do not diminish our commitment to serving and enriching our community. We are taking proactive steps to reduce expenditures while maintaining the quality of education and services provided to our students. We are reviewing all areas of our budget to identify opportunities for savings without compromising the educational experience of our students. As we move forward with these budget reductions, we are committed to maintaining open lines of communication and seeking input from all stakeholders, including you. Your insights, perspectives, and suggestions are invaluable as we navigate these challenging times together. In the days ahead, we will provide further details regarding the implementation of these budget adjustments and how they may impact specific programs or activities. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Business Manager, Janelle Kelley at 509-397-8058, ext. 1013 or me. 509-397-8058, ext. 2001.
Sincerely,
Mark Jacobson
