Reports To: Principal
Responsibilities: The teacher in this position will play a
critical role not only in the education of our youth, but also in the continual
evaluation and improvement of curriculum and effective teaching and learning
The person selected for this
position is characterized by the following traits:
- The ability to provide
an instructional environment that maximizes learning for preschool
students and prepares them academically and socially to transition to the St
John kindergarten program with necessary entry skills.
- An understanding of and
demonstrated ability to apply the Common Core State Standards to maximize

- Must have an appropriate Elementary
Education degree AND,
- A valid Washington State Teaching
Certificate with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education (PK-3) or
Early Childhood Special Education.
- Training and education specific to teaching
and successful work experience with children in Birth-5 or Pre-K age
- Experience working with Pre-K students
in a public or private preschool or daycare setting.
- An interest in the total development of
students; educational, social, and emotional.
- Evidence of outstanding instructional
skills and demonstrates belief that all students can learn.
